Soil pH 5.5 to 7.0 - Sow tomato seeds indoors six weeks before the last spring frost, using individual 3" pots. Always use heating cables or a propagation mat to maintain soil temperature. After four weeks, transplant into larger pots. About 10 days before the last spring frost, start hardening off the plants gradually outside. A week after the last spring frost, transplant plants outdoors, spacing the plants 2 feet apart in rows 3 feet apart.
